    About Tri-Cities Church 

    In the fall of 2011, a small group of families started meeting in a home in Hapeville with the vision of starting a new church to participate in God’s work of bringing restoration, revitalization and hope to the Tri-Cities area. Tri-Cities Church began having monthly services in May of 2012 and officially launched January 20, 2013 in Hapeville Elementary. Shortly after launching, Tri-Cities Church moved into a 24/7 location in East Point which it later purchased in 2016. In 2022, Tri-Cities Church united with a Spanish-speaking congregation, further creating a church community that reflects the area. Since the beginning, Tri-Cities Church has been committed to being an authentic, generous, intentional, diverse, and grace-filled church family where people can build their faith, belong to family, and be the church to the Tri-Cities community.

     

    The role: The Teaching Pastor will be a Christ-centered leader who is a skilled preacher, passionate about discipleship, and desires to reach the wider Tri-Cities community. This person will be salaried and fulltime.

     

    We are seeking a pastor that will join in shepherding the church community, pursuing the spiritual health and growth of the congregation, instilling a sense of engagement and ownership.

     

    This pastor will demonstrate strong leadership skills by collaboratively working with the Lead Pastor, Elders, Church Staff, and Ministry Leaders to align mission, vision, and values.

     

    Tri-Cities Church is a multi-ethnic community of two congregations and the future pastor must have a vision for maintaining and growing a diverse church.

     

    The Teaching Pastor role will entail:

    • Functioning as the main teaching pastor for the English speaking service, who will plan and prepare sermon series throughout the calendar year and preach between 3x-4x/month.
    • Leading the teaching team who will rotate in on various Sundays, guiding and developing them as communciators and ensuring cohesiveness throughout each series.
    • Ensuring message alignment between the various ministries within Tri-Cities Church including teens, children, and Spanish ministries.
    • Fostering involvement within the greater Tri-Cities community by actively pursuing opportunities for the church to engage in community outreach
    • Actively participating in the life of the church and, at times, serving in youth and family ministries and other service project teams.
    • Participating and presenting in Staff meetings and Leadership Team meetings with the ability to facilitate discussion and drive alignment.

     

    What we are searching for:

    Education

    The ideal candidate will have an undergraduate degree in biblical studies, a seminary degree, or ministry experience.

     

    Experience

    Three to seven years of experience as a Lead, Associate, or Campus Pastor

    1. Pastor Students and Families

    • Develop and execute a ministry plan for 6-12th grade students, including weekly programing, special events, small groups, etc.
    • Empower and support parents as the primary spiritual influence of their student through availability and effective resourcing.
    • Create environments that foster fellowship, discipleship, worship, evangelism, and ministry.
    • Be actively involved in the lives of students and their families.

    2. Oversee Volunteer Team

    • Recruit and place potential volunteers.
    • Train and mentor team members to help them grow in their leadership and capacity to minister to students and families.
    • Ensure all volunteers are safe to work with students, can pass a background check, have accurate theology, and display appropriate behavior at all times.

    3. Contribute to the Mission of NLCC

    • Create a culture of connecting students to serving opportunities inside and outside of the church.
    • Create and maintain a team relationship with the other staff & elders of NLCC.
    • Work alongside other staff at NLCC to develop and execute the church mission.
    • Work with the Children’s minister to create aligned strategy and healthy transition for students/families from one area of ministry to the next.
    • Willing to assist in other areas of NLCC’s ministry, such as preaching in the main service, Christian School Chapel, and helping with special events.

    4. Administrative Duties

    • Use Planning Center to schedule events and resources on a shared calendar, create registrations for student ministry events, manage volunteer teams and small groups, etc.
    • Communicate and collaborate with other team members on projects using Basecamp.
    • Create and manage an annual budget.
    • Communicate clearly to students and parents using various forms of communication including texting, email, and social media.

    Meet Northeast Christian Church:

    Northeast Christian Church is a community passionate about outreach, worship, and community. Our ministries have grown along with the community since we began in 1977.

    We empower the people within our church to love their neighbors. Our partnerships with local schools, nonprofits, and small businesses provide countless opportunities for our community to carry the love of Jesus outside the walls of the church to make a tangible impact in our city.

    Through serving the city and beyond, our Love the ‘Ville movement began in 2014 when 1,800 people from Northeast Louisville took our Sunday church services to the streets of Clifton, helping the neighbors and local businesses. This movement is now fueled by our annual; Christmas Eve offering with three specific focuses: loving our city, schools, and the world. This generosity has grown from $280,000 in 2014 to $1.7 million in 2022.

    Our Sunday services are laid back, so come as you are, and grab a cup of coffee on the way in! We have a time of worship with music, take communion together, collect a weekly offering, and hear a message designed to inspire and challenge each person toward growth in their relationship with Jesus.

    About the Outreach Team Lead:

    The Outreach Team Lead oversees all outreach ministries and partnerships locally and globally at Northeast Christian Church. This role requires an energetic, organized, outward-focused, and strategic-minded leader who can cast vision and execute strategic goals for the Love the ‘Ville Movement. The role requires focus and competency in the following areas: team leadership, stewardship development, and mobilization of volunteers.

    The Outreach Team Lead’s Responsibilities Include: 

    • Faithfully model Jesus Christ at Northeast and in the community.
    • Evaluate and implement the vision and mission of the Love the ‘Ville outreach ministry under the oversight of the Northeast Elders and Leadership Team.
    • Oversee the outreach ministry, including the complex budget, outreach events, mission trips, and partnerships.
    • Lead the Outreach Team to develop and implement the strategy for local, schools, and global outreach, including but not limited to the following: ministry partnerships, and Northeast mobilization.
    • Ready to lead, plan, and implement local outreach events, including collections for crisis/disaster relief.
    • Ready to identify, develop, and steward local, school, and global partnerships.
    • Work with the communications department to ensure clear and effective communication regarding local, school, and global outreach.
    • Accomplish all other duties as assigned, including Sunday morning responsibilities.

    What it’s Like to Live in Louisville, KY:

    Position Description

    Youth and Family Minister
    Woodlawn Christian Church is a family of believers serving Christ together in the growing south Knoxville community in beautiful Knoxville, Tennessee.     • Provide pastoral care for youth and their families.
    • Carry out ministry duties consistent with being on staff at Woodlawn (staff meetings, office hours, work as a team, promote a unified vision, preach as necessary, etc.)

    Qualifications:
    • Demonstrated relationship with Jesus that displays a life of faith in Jesus, professional maturity, high character, and the Fruit of the Spirit.
    • Bachelor’s Degree from a Christian University/Bible College, or equivalent preferred.
    • A degree in Youth and/or Children’s Ministry is preferred.
    • 3 years minimum of vocational Youth/Children/Family Ministry experience.
    • Proven ability to create and implement a ministry vision and strategy.
    • Excellent leadership skills with proven ability to organize volunteers, programs and events.
    • Strong communication skills with students and parents/guardians.
    • Proven experience with (or willing to learn) social media skills and strategies.
    • Strong desire and ability to collaborate on a team and delegate responsibilities.

    Note: This is a full-time position with a minimum 40 hour work week. Compensation will be determined based on experience (includes $6,000 health insurance benefit).
