Kentucky Christian University (KCU) is thrilled to announce the appointment of Jake Ratliff as the new campus minister. With a strong background in church ministry and a passion for mentoring young leaders, Ratliff is poised to make a significant impact on the next generation of students at KCU.

A familiar face on campus, Ratliff is no stranger to the KCU community. Having graduated from KCU in 2012, he has maintained close ties with the university over the years. Ratliff’s dedication to serving others led him to Highland Christian Church in Mason County, where he served faithfully before joining Tollesboro Christian Church in Lewis County as their Worship and Young Adult Minister. For over a decade, Ratliff has been instrumental in nurturing the spiritual growth of the congregation.

Beyond his church ministry, Ratliff is the founder and leader of Hunt for the Gospel, a thriving ministry that combines his passion for hunting with mentoring young men. Through this initiative, Ratliff has provided countless individuals with the opportunity to be mentored while sharing their love for the outdoors. Additionally, he serves on the board at Sugarloaf Christian Camp, further demonstrating his commitment to fostering spiritual development in various settings.

Ratliff’s connection to KCU extends beyond his previous studies. He has frequently visited campus, volunteering his time to lead worship in chapel and working closely with the Worship Collective students. His enthusiasm and dedication have left a lasting impression on the KCU community, making him an ideal candidate for the role of campus minister.

Originally from Decatur, Indiana, Ratliff is married to Lela Jordan Ratliff Lusby Legacy and is a proud native of Grayson. Together, they have three children – Emelia, Kathryn, and Wylie. Ratliff’s extensive experience in church ministry, coupled with his genuine passion for mentoring and guiding young leaders, makes him an invaluable addition to the KCU team.

As Ratliff embarks on this new chapter in his ministry journey, he is filled with excitement and anticipation. He is eager to pour into the lives of KCU students, equipping them to become the next generation of Christian leaders. With his infectious enthusiasm and deep-rooted faith, Ratliff is poised to make a lasting impact on the KCU community.
