Books & E-Books

Circulating

Books can be located using our Online Catalog / Discovery System. Our catalog is a Discovery system which means that every search will result in a single list that contains print books, e-books, print journal articles, electronic journal articles, steaming media, and library equipment.

As you identify resources that meet  your research needs, you can click on the titles to determine their availability.  Electronic resources can be viewed and downloaded from links in the catalog.  Please note that we encourage you to use the links in the catalog. Articles should be downloaded to make retrieval easier. For e-books we recommend reading the book from the link since this will allow you to use search tools built into the system.  Usage for these items does not require that you check them out.

If you find a print title that you would like to borrow, you will need to send the following information to nenders@kcu.edu :

1. Your first and last name
2. Your contact information, including your email address and a phone number where you can be reached.
3. Your ID number
4. The title of your book
5. The Author of your book
6. The Call number of your book
7. The ISBN number of your book if it is available. This can be located at the bottom of the screen of the book you have selected.

Books are loaned to distance learners for 4 weeks. Books can be renewed by sending an email to nenders@kcu.edu or calling 606.474.3276.

Graduate students working on a Masters thesis should inform the library director.  These students may check books out for a semester at a time.

Reference and Reserve

Reference and Reserve items do not leave the library. These materials will still be accessible for online learners.

For Reference items Scans will be made of the Table of contents and/or index. These will be emailed to you. Once you have selected the pages you will need, contact nenders@kcu.edu and scans of the pages will be made and emailed to you.

For Reserve items Scans of the pages of the reserve items will be emailed to you. Requests for these items may be made to nenders@kcu.edu.  Please note that scanning an entire book is not possible.  Contact nenders@kcu.edu if you need to discuss alternatives to a needed book source.

Free E-books

Many web sites that provide free ebooks are also available. We list a few of the scholarly ones on our E-books page and update it regularly. Click on the link to find our current listing. E-books
