Kentucky Christian University and the KCU School of Business and Leadership are proud to welcome Tami Matheny to campus for the 2026 Mission Minded Leadership Conference presented by the KCU School of Business and Leadership and Business Cultivation Foundation.
Tami Matheny is the owner of Tami Matheny Coaching, an author, and keynote speaker who helps individuals from all walks of life build confidence, focus, motivation, mental toughness, leadership, and teamwork. As a mental game coach, Tami believes that confidence is the foundation for success—in sports, leadership, and life.
Through her books, one-on-one coaching, webinars, online programs, podcasts, and practical resources, Tami equips individuals with the mental skills needed to perform under pressure, stay focused, and grow through challenges.
A Hall of Fame athlete and salutatorian at East Rutherford High School in North Carolina, Tami experienced firsthand that success does not automatically equal confidence. She continued to wrestle with confidence while competing in basketball and tennis at Lenoir-Rhyne College, where she earned a degree in psychology. Her curiosity and personal struggle eventually led her to deeply study confidence during her time as the men’s and women’s tennis coach at the University of South Carolina Upstate—shaping the work she does today.
Outside of coaching and speaking, Tami challenges herself through endurance sports, having completed multiple marathons, including the Boston Marathon, ultramarathons, and two century cycling rides. She brings those same lessons of resilience, discipline, and belief into everything she teaches.
