Worship and Youth Minister Job Description
The First Church of Christ in Garrett, Indiana, is seeking a full-time
Worship and Youth Minister to join our ministry team. The primary
emphasis of this role is the ability to lead the congregation in
meaningful, Christ-centered worship each week, guiding them into the
presence of God. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong
leadership in worship, including proficiency in leading from the
guitar, and a heart for fostering authentic, Spirit-led worship
experiences.
In addition to worship leadership, this individual will provide
spiritual guidance for our youth ministry. With a focus of creating
engaging, biblically grounded programs that encourage spiritual growth
and active participation in the life of the church.
FCoC is a non-denominational, independent Christian Church located in
DeKalb County, just 20 miles north of Fort Wayne. Our Sunday morning
services feature a blended style of worship, combining both
traditional and contemporary elements. We currently average 235
attendees across our two services at 8:30 a.m. and 10:45 a.m.
Candidate Qualifications
We are prayerfully seeking someone who is:

A graduate from a Restoration Movement College or University.
A baptized follower of Jesus Christ who is committed to a growing
relationship with Jesus.
Willing to submit to the biblical authority, teaching, and
leadership of the Elders of FCoC.
We are seeking someone who will make this church their home and
faithfully invest in building relationships and nurturing the lives of
our congregation and the Garrett community.

Compensation
Salary will start in the low $40s and will be determined based on experience.
Part of the package will include:

Church paid cell phone
Allowances for conventions, books, and ministry equipment needs.
Vacation allowance will be 2 weeks

No insurance included. You will be responsible for finding your own insurance.

Weekly Responsibilities: Worship Minister

Select music for Sunday services.
Coordinate with the secretary to prepare materials for ProPresenter.
Lead weekly rehearsals to prepare for Sunday worship.
Lead both Sunday morning services.
Provide instrumental music during communion.
Recruit, train, and lead a volunteer worship team.
Oversee the sound system and support its volunteers.
Collaborate with the church secretary to organize the worship team schedule.

Weekly Responsibilities: Youth Minister

Plan and oversee all elements of the junior and senior high program.

Youth Group, Small Groups, Retreats, Trips, Etc.
Develop a yearly calendar in collaboration of the other ministries.
Disciple students on their biblical journey.

Train and equip youth sponsors to support in the ministry of the
youth program.
Design and implement a clear spiritual pathway that leads students
from outside the church to becoming devoted disciples of Christ.
Be actively involved in the ministry of Lake James Christian Assembly.

Additional Responsibilities

Coordinate and oversee the Children’s Ministry and Sunday School
programs in collaboration with the Associate Minister.
Assist with pastoral calls and visitation of teens within the church family.
Worship and Youth Minster will be required to attend all leadership meetings.
