Position Description: Position: Youth Ministry Resident
Hours: 40 hours per week/One Year Commitment
Location: Wooster, Ohio
Job Responsibilities:
Help plan, develop, and implement all aspects of a balanced student
ministry in the areas of teaching, group building, worship,
discipleship, mission, and outreach
Support and guide the parents by equipping them with resources to
help build up the family and their faith
Mentor youth in developing their leadership skills
Be aware of resources for developing the student ministry
programming and participate in continuing education events and
training opportunities
Work alongside volunteers/parents in all aspects of student ministry
and ensure adequate volunteer support and adult-to-youth ratios
Coordinate Sunday School curriculum for youth (grades 6-12) and
recruit teachers
Coordinate and teach youth groups as well as Sunday morning classes
Work certain office hours
Be responsible for submitting and overseeing the Youth budget to the
leadership when that time comes.
Create a quarterly calendar with all youth activities on it
Assist in Pastoral responsibilities (hospitals, funerals and weddings)
Communicate in a timely manner and as effectively as possible using
all available resources (email, website, bulletin, social media,
etc.). Ensure communication with church staff and leadership,
volunteers, parents and the congregation as a whole.
Be present at staff meetings on Tuesday and help in missional
planning sessions
To be a team player and work with the staff. We want to strive to be
a staff that is willing to serve each other at all times.
Make yourself available to students in a variety of ways (i.e. lunch
at school, attendance at extracurricular activities, visitation, times
of crisis, etc.)
Participate with Round Lake Christian Camp by getting involved in a
week of camp as well as retreats
Preach when called upon (Notice will be given)
Qualifications:
Must be a baptized believer with a desire to be more like Christ as
an example; to have a desire to make disciples by living out the
mission in their daily life
Must feel led to serve God in vocational ministry
Must have a vision and a demonstrated ability to plan, develop,
coordinate, manage and implement a student ministry within the
parameters of Parkview’s missional philosophy
Must have a healthy working relationship among the staff and be
willing to help the team
Must possess a desire to work with teenagers, diverse individuals,
and teams of volunteers
Must show a faithful pursuit of leadership characteristics as listed
in 1 Timothy 3
Must be able to respond to changing needs throughout the daily and
weekly schedule
Must have a heart to learn by continual growth and development
through conferences, reading and exchange of ideas with others
If the candidate has not already received a Bible College degree, he
must begin pursuing one, from a Restoration Movement Bible College.
Must hold firmly to the teachings of Scripture as stated in 2
Timothy 3:16-17, “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for
teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, 17so
that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good
work.”
Compensation: Salary to be discussed. Love offering collected at the
end of the residency. Housing and meals provided.
