Summary
New Horizon Christian Church is a non-denominational restoration
church whose doctrine is the bible, preaching and teaching from it
exclusively.
The primary responsibility of the Family Life Minister will be the
development and execution of a comprehensive program for Christian
discipleship of families including partnering with and equipping
parents, developing and overseeing ministry and outreach for children
ages birth through senior high school. This pastoral position will
develop and implement teaching, recruiting, training and deployment of
volunteer leaders and provide support systems that will enable the
families of NHCC to fulfill its mission of Loving God, Loving others
and Making a Difference.
Responsibilities
Oversight of Youth and Children’s ministries
Hands on involvement in leading Youth Ministries (High school and
Middle school) with the assistance of volunteers.)
Developing a strategy to equip and engage parents as the primary
disciplers of their children.
Develop and manage a budget to support all programs.
Establish annual goals.
Recruiting, training, coaching and appreciating volunteers or staff.
Developing relationships with children, youths and families.
Work with the Lead Pastor to ensure coordination and cohesiveness
among the various ministries at NHCC.
Responsible for communication related to Family Ministries (Email
newsletters, texts, social media, videos etc.)
Provide pastoral care to children/youth and their families in difficult times.
Participate in preaching and teaching ministries of NHCC.
Assist in helping to care for the congregational needs of the church.

congregation, staff and volunteers.

Essential Qualifications
The ideal candidate would have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited
Bible college, university, seminary or equivalent with a concentration
in student and/or family pastoral ministry or, is on track to become
an ordained minister. A solid understanding of restoration theology
and its practical implications for discipling parents and
children/youth is essential. Experience with youth and/or children’s
ministry is desirable.
In addition have:
Married with children.
Qualify as an elder as listed in 1 Timothy chapter 3:1-12, Titus 1:5-9.
A strong personal relationship with Jesus Christ as evidenced by
spiritual maturity and stability.
A strong biblically, ground marriage and family dynamic, able to
manage your household well (1 Timothy 3:3-5).
A love for kids, students, and families and able to connect with all
generations.
Experienced in recruiting, organizing, and developing volunteer and
leadership teams.
A high energy leader and team builder with passion for lost people
in the community.
Strong conflict management and public relations skills.
Flexible and calm under pressure and/or emergency situations.
Self-motivated, results-oriented, independent worker with the
leadership and administrative skills necessary to recruit, engage and
lead teams and who also thrives in a collaborative environment.
An understanding or at least an awareness for special needs children
ministry dynamics.
