Job Title: Youth Director

Reports to: Dailey Chapel Board appointed committee

Position Type: Part-time to start, with possibility to become Full-time

Objective: Design, lead and grow a comprehensive children/youth ministry (grades K – 12)

POSITION OVERVIEW

Dailey Chapel Christian Church is a small, warm and welcoming, family-oriented church, that currently has a small number of children and youth from babies to teens in attendance.  There is currently not an official Youth Program or Ministry. The successful candidate will be someone who can minister to those in Kindergarten and above, by building a program that will meet the needs of each age group individually, while also keeping the whole group in mind. This program will revolve not only around Sunday mornings, but it must grow to include possible evening events, holiday or seasonal events, trips, and other activities as the youth ministry develops. Flexibility will be required, as the number of youth that attend Dailey Chapel may dramatically change from week to week.  The Youth Director will provide training to develop young disciples for Jesus Christ, by teaching them the Bible and serving them in an environment that is nurturing and focuses on spiritual growth.  The successful candidate will be expected to model an authentic Christian life and provide spiritual direction to children, teens, families, and volunteers.

DAILEY CHAPEL’S BELIEFS

  • We believe in the one true God eternally existing as three persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
  • We believe the Bible is the inspired, infallible Word of God.
  • We believe in Jesus’ substitutionary death on the cross, bodily resurrection, and eventual return.
  • We believe the Bible teaches that salvation is a 6-step process that includes all of the following:
  1. Hearing the Word of God
  2. Believing that Jesus Christ is the Son of God
  3. Repenting of Sin
  4. Confessing that Jesus Christ is the Son of God
  5. Being Baptized into Christ by Immersion
  6. Continuing to follow Christ in faith unto death

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Supports and adheres to Dailey Chapel’s Biblical beliefs.
  • Is an immersed believer, actively pursuing a relationship with Christ.
  • Must have a strong Biblical knowledge and sound theology rooted in the Restoration Movement.
  • A degree in theology or children’s/youth ministry from a Restoration Movement based Biblical College is preferred.
  • Strong people skills.
  • Effective communicator.
  • Capable of handling sensitive situations with grace and Biblical wisdom.

EXPECTATIONS

  • Actively participate in Dailey Chapel church services, meetings, and church-wide activities.
  • Model and encourage a lifestyle of prayer, Bible study, and Christ-centered living.
  • Teaching Materials will be from Standard Publishing.
  • Meet with the Board appointed committee as may be needed

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design, lead and grow a comprehensive children/youth ministry (grades K – 12).
  • Teach/Direct Children’s Church and Youth Church.
  • Create and lead activities that are fun and/or educational and/or service oriented.
  • Community Outreach to connect with the unchurched and grow Dailey Chapel’s youth attendance along with their families.
  • Recruit, organize, and direct volunteers to help with program activities, ensuring that they too support and adhere to Dailey Chapel’s Biblical beliefs.

COMPENATION

  • Annual Salary: $20,000
  • Vacation: 2 Weeks including 2 Sundays
