About This Role
The primary role of the Children/Student Minister is to introduce young people to Christ, disciple them in spiritual growth, and equip them to serve. The Children/Student Minister also equips parents/guardians to disciple their children. The Children/Student Minister is responsible for providing planning, promoting, and coordinating assistance and direction for all education and activities for student ministry. And providing oversight and supervision over the children’s ministry, working closely with the Children’s ministry volunteers.
Primary Responsibilities and Tasks of the Children/Youth Minister
- Lead and organize effective programs for our children and students that combine fellowship, worship, biblical teaching, discipleship, and evangelism.
- Recruit, train, and shepherd all Children and Student ministry volunteers.
- Plan and execute services for children that are biblically accurate, culturally relevant, and high-energy.
- Create and manage a student ministry and Children’s ministry calendar that drives all events, activities, and teaching within each ministry.
- Integrate the mission and vision of MC3 Church into Children and Student ministry goals and activities.
- Cast vision for, teach, and plan retreats and camps with music, messages, games, and activities that inspire students to learn about God.
- Assist in developing the annual Children and Student ministry budget and responsible stewardship of the budget.
- Serve as a member of the pastoral staff by performing and participating in baptism services, funerals, etc.
- Communicate effectively.
- Maintain contact with children, students and their parents to keep them informed of events and activities
- Utilize social media and other promotional tools to support outreach, family ministry and service.
- Provide regular status updates to the Senior Minister, Church Staff, Elders, Ministry Teams and the congregation regarding programs and efforts.
- Develop and provide messages that support the church’s virtual ministry, including videos and other written communications.
- Communicate with the technical director for technology needs in the Children’s and Student ministries for all technology needs including computers and software programs/subscriptions.
- Participate in weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual team meetings as a part of the leadership team.

- Maintain God-ordained priorities in your life by putting Jesus Christ first, your spouse second, your children third and the ministry fourth.
- Possess a passion for a relationship with God through frequent time in the Word and prayer.
- Give cheerfully and give what the Lord tells you to give of your income toward the mission and vision of MC3.
- Be loyal to the vision and staff of MC3 and always protect the unity of the church.
- Demonstrate a Christ-like attitude through all interactions with congregation, staff, and volunteers.
- Invest and invite the lost to know Jesus and attend MC3.
Skills/Qualifications include:
- Creative, Spirit-led visionary who can ‘see’ what is not yet there and bring it to fruition.
- Be passionate about servant evangelism and ministry to members and the community.
- Possess strong team-building and leadership development skills.
- Proven experience in managing multiple projects at once with attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to bring diverse groups to consensus while driving towards completion on goals and objectives.
- Ability to research and network in order to develop successful new programs.
- Experience in managing community partnerships and ministry programs.
- Demonstrated ability in recruiting and equipping volunteers and ministry teams in a multigenerational setting.
- Highly relational, strong people skills—ability to relate to all types of people and personalities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- A self-starter, versed in problem-solving.
Your Schedule
This is a full-time, salaried position around 40-45 hours a week, with four days spent in the office and one day of flexible working location.
