We are looking for a Part-time director for elementary ministry to work alongside the minister to families and youth and our early childhood director to produce excellent programming and ministry to kids.
Role: Part Time Elementary Ministry Director
Responsible to: Minister to Families and Youth.
General Description: To assist the Minister to families and youth in fostering an environment that is inviting, welcoming, engaging, and loving for children by providing relevant programming that helps guide them into a relationship with Jesus
Specific Responsibilities:
- Work with the minister to families and youth to develop current and future vision/direction of the elementary department
- Oversee the Sunday Evening “KidCity Nights” Youth Group for K-3rd grade, and “The Bridge” youth group for 4th-5th grade during the school year by
- Choosing and coordinating curriculum materials, and distributing them to volunteers in a timely manner
- Recruiting and training volunteers into meaningful roles
- Participating actively in the weekly execution of the program(s)
- Evaluating and adjusting programming as needed for effectiveness
- Work with the minister to families and youth during the summer to plan and execute the “Midweek at KidCity” program.
- Maintain a presence in KidCity on Sunday mornings by teaching, leading worship, or acting as a small group leader during service, and by being visible in the halls for parents and guardians between services.
- Volunteer 1-2 hours weekly in the Marlington, Lake Local, or Alliance school districts during the school year.
- Assist minister to families and youth in planning and executing elementary and family events throughout the year
- Assist minister to families and youth with planning and scheduling social media content to help engage, encourage, and activate parents to act as spiritual champions for their children.
- Work with the ministry team to develop and implement all security measures related to the elementary departments, including volunteer screening and class/ building safety
- Participate in ongoing volunteer training efforts
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Be a baptized believer in Jesus who loves God, loves people, and especially loves kids
- Have and maintain an active personal relationship with Jesus
- Have a clean background check
- Have some experience working with elementary children in an educational setting
- Be proficient in basic computer programs, including Microsoft Office or equivalent, and have knowledge of or willingness to learn church-specific programs as needed (including but not limited to: Planning Center, Flocknote, and Orange’s Parent Cue and Lead Small apps)
- Skills in Social Media management are a plus
- Be willing and able to participate in ongoing training
