Position Description: Job Title: Associate Minister/Pastor

Reports To: Lead Pastor

Location: Chillicothe Christian Church, Chillicothe IL

Position Summary:

We are so glad you are taking the time to learn more about the
Associate Minister position at Chillicothe Christian Church. Our

Our church is currently seeking a leader to share the gifts God has
given them to serve as a vital member of the pastoral/executive team,
supporting the Lead Pastor in providing spiritual leadership, member
care, and administrative oversight while also being a champion of the
CCC’s mission and vision. This role includes preaching, teaching,
discipling, and assisting in the development and execution of
ministries that advance the church’s mission. The ideal candidate is a
committed follower of Christ with a servant’s heart, strong leadership

Roles and Responsibilities:

1. Ministry Leadership

* Assist in planning and leading worship services, including preaching
on a rotating schedule.

* Provide leadership and oversight to specific ministry areas (e.g.,
small groups, discipleship, outreach, youth ministry, depending on
strengths of the candidate and church needs).

* Support the spiritual development of church members through Bible
studies, discipling, and leadership training and development.

2. Pastoral Care

* Provide care through: prayer, visitation, and presence to
individuals in times of need (e.g., illness, grief, crisis).

* Officiate funerals, baptisms, and other pastoral duties as needed.

* Foster a welcoming and compassionate environment within and outside
of the church community.

3. Administration and Collaboration

* Assist the Lead Pastor in strategic planning, ministry evaluations,
and implementation of church vision.

* Attend staff meetings and work closely with ministry teams,
volunteers, and church leadership.

* Lead a team of volunteers in your area of ministry/expertise to
effectively grow the Kingdom.

* Help organize and support churchwide events and outreach efforts.

Qualifications:

* A growing, mature Christian faith with a strong commitment to
Scripture and a commitment to disciple making

* Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

* A Master’s of Divinity or similar theological education from an
accredited seminary (or working toward completion) desired

* 3+ years of ministry experience is preferred

* Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills

* Ability to preach and teach effectively to a diverse,
intergenerational congregation

Job Type: Full-time
Pay:  $50,000-$60,000 commensurate with experience
