The Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) at Kentucky Christian University prepares advanced practice nurses to lead transformational change within complex healthcare systems. This fully online program integrates advanced clinical judgment, leadership, informatics, policy, and evidence-based practice within a Christ-centered framework.
Graduates are equipped to improve patient and population health outcomes, advocate for vulnerable populations, and serve as ambassadors for Christ while leading with integrity, compassion, and professional excellence.
Advanced Practice Nurses: Nurse practitioners, clinical nurse specialists, nurse midwives, and other APRNs seeking to lead practice change at the highest levels of healthcare organizations
Healthcare and System Leaders: Nurses preparing for leadership roles in healthcare administration, policy development, population health, and organizational transformation.
Faith-Driven Professionals: Nurses are called to integrate Christian faith, servant leadership, and compassionate care in diverse healthcare environments.
Applicants must hold a graduate degree in nursing and a valid, unrestricted U.S. RN license. Additional admissions requirements apply.
What sets us apart:
Students complete a doctoral-level, evidence-based practice project designed to address a real-world healthcare problem within a population or practice area of interest. The capstone integrates scholarship, data analysis, leadership, and implementation science.
The program includes 500 direct and indirect clinical hours, completed in the student’s home community through project development, implementation, and evaluation.
“KCU was more than a University, it was also a home for me. Professors didn’t just worry about my grades, but they knew about my life, provided counsel, encouraged me, and pushed me to grow. I felt that my education for ministry was amazing and really helped prepare me for ministry. A lot of my spiritual mentors have come out of KCU and also some lifelong friendships with fellow students. KCU might not be the biggest school, but it has one of the biggest hearts.”
