    Position Description

    Role and Responsibilities: At the basic level, the Preaching Minister will present gospel-centered messages each week based on his own personal study of the Bible, clearly communicate the mission and vision of the church, cooperate with other staff members in planning worship services and themes. He will be responsible for Pastoral care of the church alongside the other staff and Eldership. He will also teach and lead other studies, classes, or training as led by the Executive Minister and Elders.

    Primary Qualifications:
    Character: The ideal candidate is an immersed believer and ordained minister of New Testament Christianity, demonstrates a genuine love for people as the highest priority of ministry through communication, cooperation, and personal relationships, exhibits a work ethic of initiative, positive attitude, and humility.

    Experience: The ideal candidate holds a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Bible, Ministry, or Christian Leadership and has served in full-time ministry. Preference will be given to those having preaching experience.

    Campbellsville is in Taylor County, with a population of ~24,000) and is located in the heart of Kentucky. Campbellsville Christian Church is an established Independent Christian Church. Campbellsville Christian has an average attendance of 325 each week, with a membership of over 400. The church staff is comprised of a full-time Executive, Preaching, Student, and Children’s Ministries with a part time Worship Minister. The Executive Minister handles the day-to-day administration and staff oversight, allowing the Preaching Minister to focus on sermon preparation and pastoral care.

    New Hope Christian Church in Maysville, Kentucky is an independent, non-denominational family of passionate Christ followers looking for a Associate Minister.     DESCRIPTION: The Youth Minister is responsible for all aspects of ensuring the spiritual growth and development of Junior High and High School students (grades 6 through 12). This includes leadership of weekly programs and periodic special events (camps, conferences, trips, service projects, etc.) The Youth Minister will also connect with and encourage our college-age students.     • Implement student registration, program management, and security policies/practices in support of weekly services and special events, coinciding with the already established Children’s Ministry protocols.
    • Design, plan, and conduct periodic parent meetings in order to meet the needs and expectations of families attending the church.
    • Lead the creative use and proactive upkeep of student ministry facilities and grounds.
    • Assist in the development of an annual budget for student ministries and manage spending to budget.
    • Function as a member of the church’s pastoral staff performing baptism services, weddings, pulpit supply and funerals, as necessary.

    Education & Experience

    • 3+ years’ experience as a staff member in a student ministry leadership capacity preferred.

    1. Preaching/Teaching
    • Spend adequate time in study and preparation each week in order to deliver biblical and inspirational sermons.
    • Prepare long-range preaching plans to help facilitate worship planning.
    • Work with worship leader(s) in the planning of worship services.


    1. Pastoral Care
    • Work with the elders to ensure the pastoral care of members including hospital, nursing home, and in-home visitation.
    • Provide for the follow-up of prospective members.
    • Provide spiritual, short-term counseling and/or referrals as needed.
    • Provide pre-marital counseling. Officiate weddings. Perform funeral services.
    • Be available for crisis situations.


    1. Administrative Leadership
    • Guide JCC in the fulfillment of its mission to help people find, follow, and be like Jesus.
    • Work with the elders to discern and cast the vision of JCC.
    • Empower the leaders, staff, ministries and members to implement the vision.
    • Lead the elders in an annual strategic planning meeting.
    • Lead the ministry staff in weekly meetings.
    • Promote outreach into the community and surrounding areas.
