    Woodside Bible Church is a non-denominational multi-site church located in Detroit, MI and the surrounding suburbs. The Royal Oak campus of Woodside Bible is led by Pastor Jon Morales who has been the Campus Pastor for over three and a half years. The church currently has three identical services offered at 9:00a, 10:30a, and 12:00p that all have a modern worship style.     Oblong Children’s Christian Home, Oblong, IL is seeking an Executive Director—Child Care who is a mature, Christian, servant leader with a heart for abused, at-risk, and troubled youth; their families; and those who serve them. Duties include leading a team of 10 houseparents, counselor/caseworker, school and administrator/teacher as well as assisting in the promotion of the Home in churches in Illinois and Indiana.

    The Executive Director—Child Care and the Executive Director—Operations form the leadership team and answer directly to the Board of Directors.  A complete job description is available at

    The Oblong Children’s Christian Home is a ministry of the Christian Church/Churches of Christ.  The Home provides family-style group homes for youth who are between the ages of 5 and 17 at the time of placement.

    God has blessed the ministry with excellent facilities, including four group homes on two campuses, a high school, and an indoor riding arena. In 2017, construction was completed on a new welcome center/office building, providing an excellent working environment.  In addition, the campus includes a relief home and a residence for the Executive Director—Child Care.  In 2019, a satellite campus opened in Fairfield, IL (a location 70 miles from the Oblong site).  Supervision of houseparents in that satellite home and oversight of the ministry programming in that location are also under the direction of the Executive Director—Child Care.  The ministry is debt free.

    A Master’s degree in a social service field (social work, counseling, psychology, or ministry) and three to five years of administrative experience are required depending on the specific academic degree.  Prior experience in a children’s home setting is preferred. The beginning salary range is $36,000 to $41,000.  In addition, the Home contributes 16% of the employee’s salary to a retirement account.  A large four-bedroom, two-and-a-half bath home, which has been recently remodeled, is provided. Utilities are also included.  Family health insurance is fully funded by the ministry.

    Position Description


    • Must be an immersed believer in Christ
    • Strong Christian background and advocate for the Restoration Christian Movement
    • Christian Bible College or Seminary graduate
    • Excellent writing and communication skills
    • Strong leadership qualities, including accepting and delegating authority
    • Good with people of all ages

    General Duties:

    • Develop positive relationships with all church members and families through phone calls, letters/emails, and visits
    • Reach out to and pursue open communication to new attendees/prospects through phone calls, letters/emails, and visits
    • Preach as needed and at least once quarterly
    • Help as needed with leading worship including communion and offering meditations each Sunday
    • Assist with leading while always being present at the Sunday evening and Wednesday evening services
    • Assist and aid our Preacher in anything needed through the week including bulletins, media and song presentations, set up of facilities, hospital calls, funerals, programs, personnel, counseling and teaching
    • Work in harmony with all church personnel and be willing to assist where needed

    Position Description

    We are searching for a full time youth minister to work with our middle school and high school youth groups.



    Teaching either middle school or high school Sunday School class

    Recruit, train and equip volunteers

    Oversee middle school and high school youth groups

    Plan and facilitate youth activities for middle school and high school students

    Be in charge of youth programming for Wednesday nights

    Any other responsibilities deemed necessary by the Senior Minister or the board of elders



    Graduate of a Restoration Movement Bible College or University

    Ability to teach the Word of God

    Ability to work well with others in a team atmosphere

    Previous experience  preferred

    Worship leading experience is a plus, but not required
