    Position Description

    Children/Youth Ministry Director:

    Liberty Christian Church’s Children/Youth Ministry Director has the responsibility of providing leadership, enabling Liberty to accomplish it’s calling of discipling children and youth in the Lord.  The Children/Youth Ministry Director is responsible for providing direction and leadership for Liberty’s children by developing relationships and programs in a way that develops children/youth into people who live a life of serving and ministering to others which gives glory and honor to God and Christ.

    The Children/Youth Ministry Director is under the authority and guidance of the Elders and also works with the preaching Minister to accomplish their specific ministry calling.

    General Requirements:

    Must have a reputable Christian moral character and exemplify the biblical requirements spelled out in the scriptures for leaders.

    Must be a member of Liberty Christian Church who will work and coordinate well with the Elders and Church staff with good people skills.

    Must be passionate in their calling to reach and disciple children/youth. Be creative in fulfilling their calling.

    Must communicate their calling into this type of ministry and have the giftedness to fulfill that calling.

    Must be a competent leader in finding people to work with, and disciple them into Godly teachers.

    Must have some basic skills in organization, administration, and communication. Should be self-motivated with strong work ethics and willing to be mentored and coached to improve their skills.

    Must have knowledge of social media and how it is being used by children/youth in the world today.

    Responsibilities:

    Children/Youth Ministry Director needs to have a variety of basic skills to effectively minister. These include, but are not limited to: interpersonal skills, honesty and integrity, able to give and receive feedback, motivational, possessing a collaborative nature, ability to be open minded and flexible.

    Develop and mentor children/youth leaders. Recruitment is key to a successful ministry. Volunteers are a vital part of this ministry success and these volunteers must be trained, equipped, organized, and lead well.

    Recruit, shepherd, lead, disciple, train and empower volunteers (Including other youth) to love and disciple children/youth. Oversee/plan volunteer worship team for children/youth ministries.

    Equip parents to disciple their children/youth as well as others.

    Cultivate a direct partnership with local schools.

    Help/coordinate set up and tear down of Children/Youth ministry activities.

    Attend and participate in Sunday services and challenge children/youth to do the same.

    Work with the Elders for future expenditures with good stewardship of the gifts God has entrusted to us. Provide financial accountability with integrity.

    Attend and provide regular meetings to give reports to the Elders, Board, ministry staff.

    Elders will provide Salary, vacation time, and benefits package to the Children/Youth Ministry Director.

    Stillwater Christian Church, which currently has an active youth attendance of 50 youth, is seeking a Youth Pastor.  He must be a committed, Spirit-led individual with a passion for discipleship and teaching young people how to live and preach the gospel.  He will be instrumental in leading the church in fulfilling its desire to minister to youth in church and in the community. The ideal candidate is a person who can relate well with youth, parents, and adult volunteers. This role will require a candidate to be able to teach and mentor youth in biblical truth.

    The Youth Pastor should be a passionate follower of Christ and he must have a heart for shepherding children of all ages with a vision for outreach and growth.

    The Youth Pastor should have a heart for the unchurched youth in our community and reach out and engage them with the gospel.

    Responsibilities

    • Guiding children and adolescents in their understanding of their faith.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree, preferred (Christian Church or Church of Christ Bible College)
    • Two (2) years of youth ministry experience with a demonstrated ability in expository preaching and teaching, shepherding, relationship building, discipleship, and evangelism
    • One (1) year of leadership experience
    • Meet the spiritual, personal, and character qualifications of an Elder found in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:6-9. Exhibit the fruit of the Spirit as found in Galatians 5:22
    • Be a collaborative team player, willing and able to work harmoniously with other Pastors, the Elders and Church Board, church staff and volunteers
    • Have an unwavering commitment to reaching the lost and discipleship development

    We are looking for a man or woman whose primary area of responsibility would be to lead Sunday morning worship including song selection, musicians and vocalists.     Additional responsibilities would include:

    – planning and execution of a weekly meeting for our 9-12th grade youth. Our youth have been meeting on Monday nights in two groups, grades 5-8 and grades 9-12, with total attendance of 12-15. We currently have highly experienced leaders for the 5-8 grade group.

    – coming alongside our resident software developer and implementing/maintaining a strong social media presence. We are currently on FB and have our own app.

    We offer:

    All applicants, including recent graduates, will be considered. A pay package, that can include housing, is being offered. The housing is on the estate of a church family and is a private one bedroom apartment with utilities provided, separate from the main house. It includes a large bedroom, full kitchen and laundry, living room, bathroom and wooden deck set on a mountainside in the woods.

    We are a growing church family passionate about reaching the lost in beautiful north-central Pennsylvania. We are guided by an excellent team of elders and Lead Pastor, supported by a Children’s Director on staff, who are all implementing change to reach a lost culture. We have grown approximately 40% in less than 2 years including 27 baptisms, with Sunday attendance of about 100 currently. We have unchurched guests virtually every week who continue to return.     CONNECTIONS DIRECTOR MINISTRY DESCRIPTION

    JOB TITLE: Connections Director

    REPORTS TO: Executive Minister or Senior Minister

    POSITION STATUS: Full time (exempt)

    PURPOSE: 

    In this brand new position, the Connections Director is responsible for designing, coordinating and overseeing a comprehensive ministry program that is focused on encouraging new people to connect with the FCC church body. This person is responsible for connecting people from their first step onto our digital or physical campus until our guests are “connected” in some significant way. Areas of focus include “first impression” ministries, “initial connection” ministries, and service engagement. The Connections Director is to serve as an engaging spiritual leader and role model with strong biblical values and principles that guide their life.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    General

    • Support the vision of FCC by providing connection opportunities for adults to “Love God, Love People and Serve Others.”
    • Provide and maintain a high level of relevance and excellence in all aspects of the various Connections Ministries including the following:
      • First Impressions Ministries – Parking Team, Greeter Team, Guest Central Team, Coffee Team, Worship Center Prep Team, Ushers
      • Initial Connections Ministries – First Step Team, Decision Guide Team, Newcomer Event Teams, Discover FCC Class Team
      • Service Engagement – Discover My Ministry Class, Service Engagement Processes and Initiatives/Events
    • Provide leadership and oversight to all aspects of the Connections Ministry.

    Volunteers

    • Recruit, train, develop and oversee a team of volunteers to work in all aspects of the Connections Ministry.
    • Lead, inspire and manage your team of volunteers while developing their heart for ministry.
    • Provide spiritual leadership and genuine care for the wellbeing of your team of volunteers.

    Church Staff/Leadership Team

    • Serve as the Connections Ministry advocate. On a regular basis, educate and enlighten the congregation about the connection opportunities in our church.
    • Collaborate with church leaders in planning, developing and implementing all aspects of a welcoming and engaging Connections Ministry.
    • Utilize resources and make recommendations for developing the Connections Ministry.
    • Collaborate with church staff members in a cohesive and open team environment.
    • Perform other ministry tasks as assigned by the Executive Minister or Senior Minister.
    • Regular and reliable attendance is required in the performance of the job.
    • Attend staff meetings, along with any other meetings designated by your direct supervisor or needed to fulfill your job duties.

    • Pursue a vibrant relationship with Jesus, providing an example of what it looks like to serve the Lord with your life.

    Administrative

    • Compile, propose and manage the Connections Ministry budget and strive to operate within its parameters.

    Other Expectations

    • We’d like our full time, salaried employees to work between 40-45 hours a week to set an example of service to our volunteers most of whom work 40 hours a week on top of their volunteer service.

    Position Description

    We are seeking a passionate and dynamic individual to join our church as a Student Minister. This role involves overseeing and cultivating the spiritual growth and development of students in middle school and high school. The Student Minister will work closely with the youth ministry team to create a welcoming and engaging environment where students can encounter God, grow in their faith, and build meaningful relationships with one another.

    Overview

     

    The Student Minister works to provide a transformational environment that will disciple all students. The Student Minister oversees current education models for youth and will creatively introduce new ministry methods. The Student Minister reports to the Senior Minister. All ministers/staff/leaders are under the Elders’ direction. The Student Minister must have a good working relationship with Staff, Elders, and Ministry Leaders. All programs, expenditures, plans, and strategies will be shared with the Senior Minister for counsel and to ensure consistency with the vision of the Church and calendar.

     

    The ideal person for this role will have a positive, energetic personality that connects well with children, leaders, and parents. They will oversee all aspects of the children’s ministry, ages Elementary up to High school. This person must be passionate about reaching the next generation. They must have experience in teaching, speaking, leading/recruiting volunteers, and the ability to connect and communicate with both parents and children. Most importantly, they should demonstrate a life that is being biblically formed by Jesus and possess a passion for leading the youth of our church and community, equipping them with a well-rooted biblical foundation.

    • Attend school lunches regularly, local FCA, and some activities where Students participate.
    • Assist the Senior Minister as needed in visitation (especially with families with Students).

    Position Description

    West Lafayette Christian Church, located near Purdue University in West Lafayette, IN, is seeking a Family Life Minister (FLM) to join our ministry team.  The FLM oversees the church’s ministries to the students (grades 6th-12th), their families and the young adults (college-aged) of our church.  The FLM is also positioned to be part of our succession plan for the coming retirement of our Senior Minister.  Interested parties should submit a cover letter and resume to John Dittmer at john@wlchristian.org.  We will reply with an acknowledgment, comprehensive job description, questionnaire and requests for any additional information.
