In worship, the candidate will need to have the vocal and instrumental skills necessary to lead worship for both adults and students (6th-12th grade) In addition to leading worship, this position is about building the worship ministry which will include ministering to the team, recruiting and training musicians and vocalist for both areas of worship. • Assist in the regular worship services and provide opportunity for students to minister with the congregation as well.
    • Encourage youth involvement in the overall ministry programming of the church (mission experiences, fund raisers/Harvest Festival, local outreach, VBS, etc.).
    Main Areas of Weekly Focus:
    • Sunday Morning Worship/Teaching.
    • Wednesday Evening Youth Group.
    • Friday Night Celebrate Recovery “The Landing” for Jr. High/High School Students.
    • Finding A Meaningful Way Into Local High/Middle Schools.
    Ideal Student Minister Candidate:
The ideal candidate for the position of Student Minister will have a proven track record of instilling vision and working with both youth and adult leaders. The ability to teach and model Biblical truth as well as servant leadership skills is essential. The successful Student Minster will be one who reflects Christ in their personal life and is able to ignite a passion in others to do the same. An undergraduate degree in Youth Ministries and or Biblical Studies is preferred but proven experience is also important. We are looking for someone who has a passion to seek and to save the lost, but also understands the importance of joining our teens into the overall community and mission of our church.

Discover Your Path

“The Humanities Department opened its doors right around the time where I was caught in a bit of a personal dilemma. I was studying music, but really wanted to further my studies in film through an internship in Los Angeles. The department was made for someone like me, who was trying to navigate a lot of artistic interests and find the career path buried in the middle of all of them. That internship changed my life and the KCU Humanities Department made it not only possible, but easy to follow my heart.”
