Will you join us in recognizing one of the true legends of KCU, Emma Qualls.  While the history of KCU is replete with great men and women, the fact that a simple housekeeper touched more lives
in a profound way is a testament to the true magnificence of Emma – she is a beautiful soul who loved students fiercely!

The McKenzie Student Life Center is now almost 20 years old and in desperate need of new furniture, carpet, and equipment.  KCU wants to honor Emma by naming the lounge—a hub of campus life for students—the Emma Qualls Student Lounge. A generous donor has offered to match donations to the project up to a total of $37,500!

Our plan is to hold a special recognition ceremony during Homecoming on Friday afternoon, October 16 and unveil a painting to be displayed in the Emma Qualls Lounge.  This specially-commissioned painting will have incorporated into the artwork the names of every donor to the project! We have even thrown in some pretty cool perks. We hope that you will take a moment today to make a donation on behalf of Emma?

Thriving in the Classroom

“Learning how to teach from a Christian perspective has taught me to face the challenges of the classroom with a positive attitude, rather than the negativity the world so often throws at us. KCU’s education department prepared me to not just survive my first year of teaching, but to thrive.”

Lela Ratliff, KCU Class of 2013
