  • Digital Archive of Medieval Music - Contains images of numerous manuscripts and other documents and scores from the medieval era. Cannot be printed, but can be viewed in the browser.
  • Essentials of Music - a site combining resources of W.W.Norton textbook publishers and Sony Classical recording company. Short composer biographies  on-line recordings of works by the above composers, glossary of 200 terms from music literature, descriptions of six musical eras, option of buying Sony recordings on-line
  • Karadar Classical Music - A very useful site with composer biographies, lieder texts, opera librettos, mp3 recordings, over 2000 photos, and other features

  • Library of Congress: American Memory - A gold mine of information about American History: sound files, film clips, photos, posters and documents, sheet music, many other material
  • Library of Congress: Music, Theater and Dance Resources on the Internet - A short list of sites, but a threshold to the Library of Congress site, with all of its resources
  • Opera Base - Web-base with extensive search tools for finding information and reviews about current opera productions, performers throughout the world

  • MusicPlay Piano - A semi-commercial site offering an interesting variety of information about pianos: a working demo of a grand piano action (see link below), information about used pianos, a discussion about piano tone and touch, and free online music lessons. The site also lists used/rebuilt Yamaha pianos available for purchase.
  • Wayne Land's Grand piano Action - An active, virtual demonstration of a grand piano action. Developed by Wayne Land, this page also includes labelled diagrams and descriptions.
  • Steinway and Sons - Information about how pianos are made (great pictures),and technical information about Steinway pianos
  • Piano Education Page - Highly recommended site with materials and information helpful to teachers, students, and amateur musicians. Has midi files, clever materials about composers of piano music, links to piano and music sites, and many other features.
  • Piano HomePage - Site created by Martha Beth Lewis, nationally known pianist/piano teacher/lecturer and author. Features pages about piano pedagogy, business practices in the private studio, "questions and answers", jokes, links, and other interesting topics.
  • Piano Technicians Guild - A great site with pages of links, a virtual piano museum, "images" of pianos, and a page on how to buy a piano

  • ACCME Web Site - A Web site based upon a collaboration between members of the Association of Christian College Music Educators. Features being developed include a listing of current job openings in Churches of Christ throughout the nation, as well as a links page and activities designed for college students interested in music ministry.
  • NCMC Web Site - Contains information about the annual National Church Music Conference, held in the Indianapolis area in the spring. Planned and sponsored by music ministers from Christian Churches and Churches of Christ throughout the U.S.
  • Resources for Church Musician - A very comprehensive list of resources and helps for music ministers from many types of churches; pages about organ playing, MIDI Technology, Instruction, IRS, Hymnody, Handbells, Copyright Information, Choral Music, etc. Compiled and maintained by Dr. Rodney Murrow.

  • Alfred Publishing Company - One of the largest and most widely-used music publishing companies; also publishes software for general musicianship and theory, and many important books about music and music pedagogy.
  • Burt and Company - A music store which features an extensive online catalogue and prompt mail service; specializes in piano music and piano teaching materials
  • Christian Computer Concepts, Inc. - Features free consultation, specializing in electronic keyboards, sound modules and software relevant to church music ministry; guarantees lowest prices.
  • CD Sheet Music - Printable music collections on CD's at low prices. Perhaps the most affordable way to build a library. CD titles include Beethoven: Complete Works for Piano, Brahms: Complete Works for Piano; Schubert: The Complete Songs, many other similar titles. Sources are mainly out-of-print editions. A demo is available.
  • Sonic Control - A web store with free pdf. (Adobe Acrobat) printable staff paper. Also sells music software, hardware, especially sound products.
  • Southwest Strings - Deals in string instruments (violins, violas, etc.), including parts, strings, new instruments
