KCU's Gmail Help
In order to better serve our students, faculty, and staff, we have decided to use Google and Gmail as our email provider. Gmail offers many advantages to all other email systems including better spam control, search capability, and security features. Additionally, current users of the KCU email system, Modus, will no longer have to worry about full inboxes! While email is a foundational aspect of KCU's move to become a Google Campus, you will also discover many related features such as Calendar, Documents, and other applications, many of which support real-time sharing with other members of the KCU campus community.
Many of you already use Gmail and will be familiar with the interface. For others, we have included a list of links below that will point you to tutorials on how to make this transition.

The previous webmail is still available for a limited time. If you have any messages saved in the 'old' system that you would like to keep, simply forward them to yourself and the message will appear in your new KCU Gmail Inbox.
If you are a current Gmail user UTI staff will be visiting offices to help you configure your Gmail account to receive multiple email accounts through it.
Your Password
In an effort to comply with Google's password length requirements, current passwords will need ".kcu.edu" appended to them to log into Gmail. Two examples:
- st123456@kcu.edu's current password is 123456; her new password will be 123456.kcu.edu
- jsmith@kcu.edu's current password is orange; his new Gmail password will be orange.kcu.edu
After you have logged into the Gmail system, you can change your password to your liking.
Configuring Your Email Client
Utilizing the IMAP protocol will allow you to keep your email client in sync with the email on Gmail's servers. This will allow you to have all your email on all your devices and accessible through the KCU Google Apps interface from any web browser.
