Student Services

Here to Serve

At the heart of Kentucky Christian University is the desire to serve the needs of our students with great care and consideration, modeling the example of Christ and placing others above ourselves. The KCU Student Services department is here to ensure that each student’s needs are being met in a consistent and timely manner, so you can focus on the things that matter most.  By serving our students effectively, we are able to intentionally create a learning environment that allows them to focus on their relationship with Christ, develop character, and prepare for a successful career.

Please take a minute to explore our pages, where you will find access to information regarding the various services available to our student body.  If you are unable to find what you are looking for, please feel free to contact the student services office at (606) 474-3288.

Who We Are

If you have been a part of the KCU family for very long, you have likely become acquainted with our three C’s; Christ, Character, and Career.  At the heart of KCU is the desire to emulate the life and teachings of Jesus Christ and lead our students in doing the same.  Therefore, the Student Services department is committed to providing services that help equip and encourage students in their faith as they come to know Christ more fully, grow in the character of Christ, and prepare for their career.  Whether it’s through various counseling services offered within our student support services or dorm devotionals designed to be an integral part of student housing, Christ is the standard by which we serve our student population.

Expectations

chapel exitIn the same way that Jesus serves as our standard for serving the KCU student body, He is also the standard by which we define our expectations for students. As a Christian University,  we are committed to being a community of Christians who display the character of Christ and maintain a lifestyle consistent with His teachings within the word of God.  Within our Student Handbook, we have defined these expectations in detail and require that each of our students agrees to abide by these guidelines during their time as a student at KCU.

Rather than viewing these expectations as merely an obligation, we pray that each student would come to embrace these standards as a practice in developing one’s personal character and being shapes into the likeness of Christ.  That being said, it is important that each student understand that the University requires adherence to these expectations, and therefore must also carry out corrective action in the case that a student’s behavior or lifestyle choices are inconsistent with the KCU Student Handbook.  In this way, we are able to promote a living and learning environment on campus that is both beneficial for our students and God-honoring.

WELL PREPARED

“Thank you so much, Dr. Brickey! I was well prepared, both educationally and most importantly, spiritually. I will forever remember this experience. I pray I can continue to make Yancey School of Nursing proud as I practice my career.”
