KCU Names New Executive Director of Advancement and University Counsel

Mr. Jim Patton has accepted the position of Executive Director of Advancement and University Counsel of Kentucky Christian University.  After conducting an extensive national search, during which many applicants were considered, and allowing time and space for God to direct our efforts in filling this crucial position in the educational ministry of KCU, Jim Patton emerged as a clear favorite and we look forward to benefiting from his exceptional leadership.

Jim, who was a KCU trustee in the early 1990s, and his wife, Claudette have most recently both been practicing attorneys in Colorado, and Jim has had significant higher education experience.  In addition to holding his Juris Doctor (JD) degree, Jim also completed the Master of Laws (LLM) and Master of Divinity (M.Div.) degrees.  Importantly, he also has professional experience in marketing, estate planning, and fundraising, both in higher education and with the Christian Church Homes of Kentucky (now Christian Cares Communities).  Jim and Claudette are both native Kentuckians and Jim is a "fourth generation Restoration Movement minister."  He has been active in leadership in Restoration Movement churches his entire adult life and he reports a deep desire to invest the remainder of his career in ministry, preferably the educational ministry of KCU.  Every person and group with whom Jim interviewed offered enthusiastic affirmation of his ability to help develop a culture of philanthropy at KCU.
