TITLE: Adult Discipleship Pastor

The Adult Discipleship Pastor will be responsible for building a ministry that effectively disciples adults by engaging them in biblical community and serving teams. He will do this by creating a network of groups (incorporating Bible Studies, Life Groups, Adult Bible Fellowships, Mentoring Groups, etc.) so that every attender has the opportunity to grow deeper in their relationship with Christ in community with others.*
He must have a heart for lost people and a love for the local church and must have a clear understanding of small groups ministry. He must have at least three years of experience in a small group, at least two years of recruiting and training small group leaders, and a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in biblical studies or Pastoral ministry. He must be able to cast vision, inspire people to action, identify and raise up leaders who can carry ministry and work well with other top-level leaders and engage in open, vigorous discussion for the sake of the church’s mission.
*It is our belief that discipleship occurs best in the context of relationships where people meet regularly to learn and live out the Scriptures. Small groups will be a core part of any sub-ministry. We believe married couples grow best when participating in a group together; therefore, groups that enable couples to attend together will be priority. We believe that small group studies should accentuate church priorities.

Summary: The Christian Student Foundation of Pennsylvania (CSFPA) a collegiate ministry organization with headquarters in State College, PA is seeking a qualified individual who will work closely with the Executive Director to understand and develop the vision for CSFPA, while overseeing the administration and support base management of the organization. Lead a team of paid staff and volunteers in the development of infrastructure to support use of the arts in all areas of the church. Function as a specialist in the areas of music and creative arts, supporting all areas of ministry within the church.
- Plan, design, and produce weekly adult worship services.
- Function as primary worship leader for weekly adult worship services. This can be in vocals or instrumental.
- Recruit, train, equip, and direct musicians, vocalists, and technical/creative artists in the production of weekly worship services and periodic special events.
- Provide support development of ensembles in non-adult ministries (i.e. Teens, Young Adults, etc.)
- Provide arts support as needed in the production of all special events and other church activities.
- Provide support of other worship media, such as drama, dance, etc.
- Lead the creative use and proactive upkeep of adult worship facilities.
- Function as a member of the pastoral staff performing baptism services, weddings, funerals, etc. as part of a rotation schedule.
- Assist in the development of an annual budget for arts ministries and manage spending to budget.
- Assume administrative responsibilities associated with the arts ministry
- Preaching as necessary under direction of Lead Pastor.
- Someone who will not only lead in the area of musical arts but has the ability to lead in other areas in the Worship Arts. These areas can include, but not limited to, creating graphics, some videos, and website management

This position requires a minimum of 5 to 7 years experience as a staff member in a ministry leadership capacity. Possession of a Bachelor’s Degree in Church Music, Biblical Studies or related field is required. (Extensive ministry experience, in some cases, can be substituted.) The successful individual will be a strong leader with a solid work ethic, possess the passion and gifts required to develop and improve creative use of the arts, and have the ability to administrate as a department head.
There must be an emphasis in the following key areas:

• Proven understanding how to develop people to become mature disciples of Jesus Christ
• Ability to deliver God’s Word creatively
