Discovery Christian Church is looking for a person to add to our full time pastoral staff as Pastor of Student Ministries. This person will be responsible for the oversight and direction of both our middle school and our high school ministry. The ideal candidate will have experience in youth ministry both as a participant and as a leader (as a volunteer, intern, or staff member). We are looking for someone with a Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university who has a passion for youth ministry and is committed to both reaching young people as well nurturing them in their faith. We believe a crucial and critical aspect of a Youth Pastor’s work is the recruiting, training, and nurturing of volunteers who share in youth ministry. Discovery is a church that averages between 700 and 800 in three morning worship celebrations. Community Christian Church is a dynamic, growing congregation of 100+ located in Richmond, Kentucky, and is opening a search for a new Pastor/Senior Minister.

Richmond is a vibrant town of 40,000, serving as the gateway to the mountains and also the home to Eastern Kentucky University. The Madison county population is around 75,000 and is also the location of Berea College, making this area rich in educational and cultural opportunities. Richmond has an award-wining park system, excellent public and private schools, a diverse housing market and is only 15 minutes south of Lexington, KY – making this a very attractive place to raise a family.

CCC is a group of diverse people from many various backgrounds, who aim to love the Lord with all their heart, soul, mind and strength, while learning to love one another. We have a commitment to missions, both locally and globally, and have a passion for helping those who are in need and oppressed while being Good’s instrument to bring justice and healing in the world. This New Testament congregation is rooted in the ideals of the early Church: Biblical authority, local autonomy, elder leaders and a desire to see unity among all who call themselves Christians. The position will require weekly preaching and teaching, volunteer recruitment and member integration, visitation, pastoral care, ministry oversight and shared vision casting and leadership with the elders.

As such, the qualifications of the man we are looking for, would include: Bible College or seminary education, experience in a preaching ministry and a calling from God to ministry. Additionally, we are seeking a man gifted by the Holy Spirit in preaching/teaching, leadership, service and mercy – a man with a passion for the kingdom of God and a strong commitment to both live out of and model the kingdom life, and lead others into it.

Senior Pastor – First Christian Church, Sedgwick, KS

First Christian Church in Sedgwick Kansas is seeking a senior pastor to shepherd our congregation while providing leadership to help accomplish our goals to evangelize Sedgwick and disciple our members. First Christian is a non-denominational, independent Christian Church. Although we are an independent congregation of believers, we are part of the fellowship of churches historically aligned with the Restoration Movement. Sedgwick is located on the Sedgwick – Harvey Co. line approximately 15 minutes north of the greater Wichita, Kansas metropolitan area. First Christian has the largest congregation in a community of approximately 1500 with average Sunday attendance of 165. We worship together in a blended service including a praise band and praise team. We have a very active congregation with a full offering of programs for the whole family and a constant commitment to preaching and teaching the Word of God. First Christian offers modern worship and activity facilities including a new youth and multipurpose building. The man we are seeking to fill this role will be ‘young at heart’ and able to minister to young families and senior saints as well. The church has had only 3 pastors over the past 80 years and is searching for the individual that is being called to serve a church and community in a manner that generates results for the Lord, not only in our generation but generations to come, through an emphasis on young members and families while still ministering and meeting needs of all ages. The Algonac Church of Christ moved to it’s current location in 1949. At that time we operated under the name of St Clair River Drive Church of Christ. We pattern ourselves after the 1st century churches outlined in the New Testament. We accept the Holy Bible as our guide, the Word of God as truth, and the lessons of the Apostles to be as real today as they were when first spoken.
We are located on the beautiful St Clair River just one hour northeast of Detroit, Mi. We have 200+ members with an average Sunday attendance of 112. ACOC serves an area with a population in excess of 12,000.

We are seeking:
An experienced minister with varied backgrounds. One that would be responsible for strong Bible curriculum for all ages and also help our volunteer staff present the Gospel to our community. The qualifications should be those specified in 1 Timothy 4:6-13, 1 Timothy 6:11-14 and 2 Timothy 2:21-26, also adhering to the New Testament plan of the first century church…….To Hear, to Believe, to Repent,to Confess, and Baptism by immersion followed by a faithful life of service to the Lord’s Kingdom.

Our Minister Should:
Be comfortable speaking with both young and old. He should be prepared for weddings as well as funerals. This position would require the capacity to relate to all age groups and developing relationships as a Spiritual Leader in the community.

As an Educator:
The senior minister would be responsible for preaching the Lord’s Word
each Sunday and teaching weekly Bible classes as necessary. He would also
oversee our teaching staff as they prepare lessons, reviewing materials
appropriate to the different age groups.

As an Administrator:
This position would require regular reports to the Church Board in relation
to church programs, church events and the overall condition of the church.
A regular office schedule will be posted as well as visitation calls. This
schedule is meant for general information not to restrict the minister in
other necessary duties that may arise such as hospital calls.
The senior minister is responsible for all of the regular office staff,
scheduling weekly meetings and communicating as necessary.

As an Evangelist:
The senior minister will promote the Gospel within the community in word and
deed. A minister should become part of the local community, representing the
Lord’s church. He should be available on occasion to address social groups
or participate in special services within the area if asked to do so.

Children’s Minister Job Description

Position Purpose
To equip, shepherd and engage children and their families so that they learn to glorify God in all their relationships as they draw people to Jesus.

Position Qualifications
The candidate must possess: a bachelor’s degree or the equivalent from an accredited Christian college or seminary (any exception to this would be considered by the elders on a case-by-case basis); recent experience and/or education in this particular area of ministry; the desire and ability to recruit, train, shepherd and motivate adult leaders; the ability to communicate well via e-mail, phone and in person; a positive spirit and team mentality; an obvious love for the Lord, His Word and children.

Reporting Relations
Reports directly to the Lead Minister; responsible also to the Elders.

Duties and Responsibilities
1. Develop a vibrant, Biblical vision for children’s ministry. Examples of current Children’s Ministry activities include Sunday School, The Garden/God’s Greenhouse (Children’s Church) and REAL Life (mid-week program).
2. Recruit, train, shepherd, encourage and motivate adult leaders who will execute that vision. Examples include monthly leadership meeting/trainings, one-on-one or small group lunches, etc…
3. Communicate Children’s Ministry vision and values to leadership, families and the entire congregation. Examples include web site, worship service announcements, & email updates.
4. Develop strong discipling relationships with children and their parents. Examples include baptism instruction/counseling, meeting kids at their schools and discipleship groups.
5. Continually asses the spiritual growth of children in our congregation and engage them in “leading” appropriate ministry activities.
6. Plan and promote strong large and small scale children’s events. Current examples include VBS, church camp, retreats, Harvest Party & Parents’ Nights Out.
7. Oversee Children’s Ministry budget, curriculum and facilities with a team mentality.
8. Perform other tasks or ministerial roles asked of you that would benefit the overall health and well-being of the church. For example you may be asked to assist with the performance of shepherding duties (hospital visitation, funerals, weddings, counseling, etc.).
9. Take a proactive role in your own spiritual health growing alongside the Hill-n-Dale community and communicating with leadership your own spiritual growth needs in a timely manner.

Criteria for Performance Evaluation
Performance will be measured by an annual review which evaluates: the manner in which yearly goals were achieved; the fulfillment of the duties and responsibilities listed in this job description; the quality of relationships with children, families, church members, church leadership and other staff members.
Subjective issues will be evaluated by answering the following question: Is the Children’s Ministry perceived to be growing in enthusiasm, leadership, quality and depth?
