Professional Experience
Mr. O’Lynn’s ministry experience began almost the same time as his college experience. During the Fall 1997 semester, he founded the traveling drama troupe Fisher’s Men, which he directed for the next five years. He was also a youth ministry intern in Proctorville, Ohio, and a preaching and education intern in Searcy, Arkansas. Rob has preached for Churches of Christ in Arkansas, Texas, and West Virginia. He is currently serving as the Interim Minister for the Westmoreland Church of Christ in Huntington, West Virginia, having previously served as an interim minister in Raceland, Kentucky. In addition to his congregational ministry, Rob has worked as a Chaplain at Cabell Huntington Hospital in Huntington, West Virginia, and taught in the School of Biblical Studies at Ohio Valley University. Rob first came to KCU as a part-time instructor in August 2009, teaching Bible, ministry and communications classes.
Mr. O’Lynn’s publications have been included in the devotional book Get Real: A 40-Day Journey (Blurb, 2010), the journal Restoration Quarterly (April 2011), and the Lexham Bible Dictionary (Logos Software, 2012). He has also contributed book reviews to both Homiletic and the Stone-Campbell Journal. He maintains a blog that is "dedicated to preaching by a guy dedicated to preaching" (rob-olynn.blogspot.com), and you can follow Rob on Twitter (@ProfessorRobO2).
