Professional Experience

Dennis Durst was born and raised in northeast Kansas. Growing up in the Soldier Christian Church in Soldier, Kansas, he was an avid participant in Bible Bowl. While a student at Nebraska Christian College he held ministry internships in Nebraska, Wisconsin, and California. After two years in campus ministry at the University of Nebraska, he moved to Lincoln Christian Seminary in Lincoln, Illinois. While completing a Master of Divinity degree at Lincoln, he preached at the Lake Fork Christian Church in Lake Fork, Illinois; followed by a five-year campus ministry at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

From 1997-2002, he pursued and completed his Ph.D. at Saint Louis University in the field of Historical Theology. During the academic year 2001-2002, he was a Dissertation Fellow of the Louisville Institute of Louisville, Kentucky. Dr. Durst has taught at Saint Louis Christian College, Maryville University, Missouri Baptist University, and Saint Louis University. He began teaching at the Kentucky Christian University Sack School of Bible & Ministry in 2003.
