Professional Experience
After graduating from Duke University (where he also served as instructor of Greek and New Testament) Dr. Fiensy taught at KCU from 1980-87. He then became Institute Scholar at the Institute for the Study of Christian Origins in Tuebingen, Germany. Upon returning to the U.S., he accepted the call to become the senior minister of the Grape Grove Church of Christ in Jamestown, OH. Dr. Fiensy returned to KCU in 1995. Dr. Fiensy has published five books: Prayers Alleged to be Jewish (Scholars Press, 1985); The Social History of Palestine in the Herodian Period (Edwin Mellen, 1991); New Testament Introduction (College Press, 1994); Message and Ministry of Jesus (University Press of America, 1996). He has also co-edited two collections: Faith in Practice: Studies in the Book of Acts (EES, 1995); and Christian Ethics (Parma Press, 2003). His newest book, Jesus the Galilean (Gorgias Press) was released in the summer of 2007.
