Professional Experience

Dr. Coates has taught mathematics at KCU since 1988. He began his teaching career at North Daviess High School in southern Indiana in 1968 and taught there for 13 years. While there he also coached track and cross country for 11 years and served as Athletic Director for five years. In 1981 he began working at the First National Bank of Odon in Odon, Indiana and worked there for seven years as Assistant Cashier and compliance Officer prior to coming to KCU. Dr. Coates started the cross country teams at KCU in 1997 and has been coaching them since.
