I am proud to say that I am a former student and graduate from Kentucky Christian University Yancey School of Nursing. I am also the first graduate from the Yancey School of Nursing to return as a faculty member. I left my home on Labor and Delivery to join the school because I feel that God's work is truly being done here. As a floor nurse, I was exposed to nursing graduates who were mass produced. They were not as prepared, and the Christ-like compassion and caring that was instilled in me was not being shown by these students. When I told people where I graduated from, they said, "I can tell. There's something about KCU nursing grads that are different from others." I take great pride in this. I want to be a servant leader, as Jesus was an excellent servant leader. I chose to come back to KCU to teach because I have observed firsthand the difference a kind, compassionate, Christ-like caregiver can make in the day of a patient that has no one else to turn to. In these situations, nurses can demonstrate the love of Christ and nurse the patient's mind, body, and soul, all for the glory of God.

Education

currently enrolled at Marshall University for Masters and ARNP

  • Bachelors in Science of Nursing
    Kentucky Christian University, 2006

Professional Experience

My experience is in Labor and Delivery. I love the miracle of pregnancy and birth, and being part of a family's joy as they welcome a new baby is a blessing. I also love teaching and preparing students for the Lord's ministry in nursing. Nursing is a wonderful career and each nurse has the potential to witness God's love to their patients each time they enter their rooms.
