Professional Experience
My nursing professional experience began in the operating room of St. Mary's Medical Center. While working in the operating room, I was exposed to many different areas of clinical interest. I specialized in trauma, cardiac, neurological, and breast cancer surgery, cross trained to Endoscopy and the Post Anesthesia Care Unit. After six years, I decided that it was time for change and transferred to the Labor and Delivery/Newborn Nursery Unit.
I currently work at King's Daughters Medical Center in Ashland KY. Educating patients and their families during the labor and delivery process and helping them learn how to care for their newborn infant is something I really enjoy.
It is my pleasure to say that I have taught at KCU since the inception of the Yancey School of Nursing first as a clinical instructor and then as an instructor and Associate Professor.
